Mobile Apps Overview

This guide will help you access library resources using your smartphone or other mobile device. 

  • Apps on this page are available FREE to Ascension Wisconsin Health Associates and Providers. These apps come with our annual Library Databases subscriptions, and may require that you set up a personal account (or other authentication method) on a work computer prior to launching the app.  
  • Many Library resources have a mobile web version, while others have a stand-alone app that may be downloaded from the iTunes store, Android Marketplace. 
  • Typically, if you have a larger tablet such as an iPad you will most likely not need to use the mobile sites.

About the AccessMedicine App

The AccessMedicine app delivers indispensable support and invaluable point of care solutions for clinical practice through these mobile features:

  • Quick Medical Dx & Rx is a collection of concise evidence-based outlines of conditions and disorders most often encountered in medical practice.
  • Fitzpatrick’s Color Atlas of Clinical Dermatology facilitates dermatologic diagnosis by providing color images of skin lesions.
  • Differential Diagnosis Tool browse 1,000 diagnoses by symptom, disease, or organ system at the point of care.
  • Diagnostic Tests,  a quick reference guide to the selection and interpretation of commonly used diagnostic tests, including laboratory procedures in the clinical setting.

The AccessMedicine app is available to users at legacy Ministry Health Care and Columbia-St. Marys and WFHC (otherwise known as Ascension Wisconsin).

Step 1 : To activate and for continued access to the app, you must have an active My Access account and sign in every 90 days through your institution, either on-site or through a VPN. Sign up for a My Access account today by logging into your subscription and clicking on your institution name in the upper right hand corner.

Step 2 : To download the app, please visit the App Store or Google Play. 

Sign up for and complete a MyAccess profile by logging into AccessMedicine on a work computer.  Then click on "Ministry Health Care" or "Columbia-St. Marys" or Wheaton-Franciscan:  n the upper right-hand corner.  
1 – Click Create a Free MyAccess Profile.
2 – Click “Don’t have a MyAccess profile,” and fill in the form. It’s that easy!

  • Gain remote access to AccessMedicine using just your MyAccess profile credentials. No extra logins or VPNs required. 
    • Access Self-Assessment to create and save practice tests
    • Save chapters, cases, videos, images and tables to your Favorites
    • View recently viewed content 
    • Download images directly to PowerPoint
    • Access Custom Curriculum if it’s being used by your program
    • Log in to gain and track CME credits

Introducing the New Mobile App for Clinical Key.

Clinical answers that match the speed of your busy workday are now available with the new ClinicalKey mobile app from Elsevier.  The app's intuitive design makes it faster and easier to get support from the clinical reference source you trust.
 

Here's what you need to do :

  1. Set up a Clinical Key Personal Account at a work computer.  [Tutorial with screenshots.] 
  2. Activate Remote Access [See Tutorial in #1]
  3. Get the Clinical Key Mobile App :
  • Open the App Store on your mobile device.
  • Search for "ClinicalKey" and install at no charge.
  • Once in the app, two options will appear : ClinicalKey and ClinicalKey for Nursing. [Please note : Ascension Wisconsin does NOT subscribe to ClincialKey for Nursing.]
  • Select ClinicalKey;  Enter your username and password used for remote access.   Start using the app!

Can I access NRC+ from my iPhone / Android?  Is there an App?

  • Yes, you can download a slimmed-down version of NRC+ for Apple and Android mobile devices.  Be aware that the mobile version is not the full database.
  • How do I get the NRC+ Mobile App?
  • From any Ascension computer connected to the Intranet, click on the Nursing Reference Center Plus icon on the desktop:

 

 

How do I download the Nursing Reference Center Plus Mobile Application?   [Step-step-instructions.]

To get the download link, scroll down to the bottom of the NRC Home Page.

Click on the NRC Plus Mobile App Access link at the bottom of the NRC+ home page. 

Enter an email that you’ll be able to access on your mobile device.  After you submit, NRC+ will send you an email with instructions to download the app along with an access key.  Follow the instructions …  This grants access for 9 months
